What expats can enjoy in Malaysia

Expatriate is just normal human, goes to other country for living. As normal human, we need to relax, to vacate ourselves as well. I believe in any single country it have its own interest. What about Malaysia?
Don't worry, you will never get bored here since there are so many places that you able to visit. As you know, Malaysia consist of two parts, East Malaysia (Sarawak&Sabah) and West Malaysia(Peninsula).

Since I work and stay in Cyberjaya, which is part of Selangor, and Selangor itself is part of peninsula, so starting 20 Dec 2010 I will share with you some places that I have visited in peninsula only.

petronas tower

I start from nearby Cyberjaya, I have been in Putrajaya, Crab Island, Genting Highland, Morib Beach and of course the symbol of Malaysia, Petronas tower. Here some pictures that I can share.

i-City, shah alam
Anyway, I also recommend you to visit i-City. That place in Shah Alam, just 40 mins drive from Cyberjaya. That place nice, a lot of shining things :D . And then in KL, beside petronas tower, also has nice place for hangout named Dataran Merdeka. If you want visit beach nearby KL or Cyberjaya, you may go to port dickson and morib beach. Port dickson quite ok, though so many thrashes there. I ‘d recommend you to visit Teluk Kemang part. Then for Morib beach, this place is nice for playing kite.

Anyway, if you don’t have car, you may use public transportation, there are so many. I’d vote train for public transport :D, fast and cheap.

alor setar tower
Then I also visited some places that quite far, there are Melaka, Penang, Alor Setar, Cameron Highland and Langkawi. Melaka is historycal place, if you want to take some historical pics, here there are. This city is considered world heritage city.

Penang as well, this place has so many old buildings, most of them are British building model.  Langkawi is an island that you can buy things without tax. There are so many chocolate there, you can get it 30% cheaper than normal price. In langkawi also has cable car, just like in genting. And you can enjoy the beach or play parasailing or banana boat.

cameron highland nice
If you feel stress of your work and want to release it, I’d highly recommend you to visit Cameron Highland. Fresh air and green of leaves you will find there.  There are so many fresh fruits. You want strawberry, you may pick from the tree by your own. What a nice place. But very careful, since the road is not so friendly there, especially if rain comes.
